Vacation Bible Camp 2011
It was called VBS back in the day, but apparently that has changed from school to camp! What a week it was. We had a lot of fun this past week making new friends, Kin's favorite was water day and you should hear them sing "Big House"...it is precious. Back to my story of Kinley from the previous post...After she stated she wanted a new family and new house, when we got home I opened up the door and told her to go choose one. I closed the door as she stood on the front porch and started crying. I immediately opened the door and we had a long talk about how she was saying something hurtful that she did not mean. After explaining she would not get to see all her family, friends and toys if she got a new family she said that it was not a good idea to leave. The next day at VBC the word on the street was Gratitude. She had to draw a picture of what she was thankful for...she drew, drum roll please...her house! I hope that means lesson learned! I had a great time watching her learn this week. The first two days of music she refused to dance, just sat and watched. She came home Tuesday and practiced all the moves and words to the dances, knowing all of them pretty close to perfect. On Wed. we could not get her to sit down, unless a new song came on. Two thoughts: Does she do this at dance class at school and do we have a perfectionist on our hands? It was great seeing her interact with others and make new church friends. Mommy even made a few too! We are for sure blessed in this home! I am so thankful she decided to stay here with us...what will we do when she is a teenager?
