New School....Drumroll please!

On Tuesday morning I got to go and tour my new school for next year. It is coming along. I got really motivated and excited...the wheels started spinning. I went straight to Mardel and decided my "Cowboy" theme just would not work here. I am ready for a totally new beginning. I fell in love with the new Eric Carle border I found so I do not really have a theme but more of just bright colors and some animals here and there. I am posting pictures of the progress so far. I will of course post more when I can really get my hands in there and get busy. There is still so much to do but it is still summer time:)

This past week...

We have continued to enjoy our summer this past week! What fun we have had:). A couple of things that have kept us busy...
~The Penrod's and Jone's came over on Friday to play. The kids had a great time and the adults did too. We love being able to get together like that.
~Kinley went to My Gym for her friend Kalie's B-day Party and had a fabulous time.
~Dandy came to visit. We had gotten her and Popi tickets to the Eagles concert here in Dallas. Popi could not come b/c he had work things he had to take care of right now...so I got to fill in. My Mom and I had a wonderful dinner and then headed to a fantastic concert! Loved spending every minute with my Momma:)
~The Gross Family baptized Baby Brinley and we were there for this very special occassion.
~Brandon and I painted the kids playroom! Pics will be posted soon. We will get our new pillows tomorrow and we have some art work to make on Friday! I cannot wait to share the final result. So far...so good.

Happy Father's Day.....

When thinking about Father's Day there are two words that come to my mind. They are AMAZINGLY BLESSED. Not only do I have a strong, loving and giving Father of my own but I have married the same for my children. It is often said you marry someone who is a lot like your Father and I believe in my case this is somewhat true. Both of these men are such Family Men and that is so important to me! They are both so in love with these kiddos and both are such great caring leaders of their families. They find humor in any situation and love everyone they come in contact with for some reason or another. My children are also so blessed to have the amazing role models of their Grandad and Grandaddy too. Thank you all for being the men you are and most importantly contributing to making Brandon the amazing Dad he has become. Love you Baby.

Slice of Dandy and Popi's Heaven

So Mom and Dad survived their week with Kin and Kale! The kids had so much fun and did not want to come home. Kinley would call and ask, "Mommy can you come to Dandy and Popi's?" It never was can I come home...she just wanted me to go there. I swear they came home looking 10 lbs bigger;). They got to spend a lot of time with Baby Alyssa since Dandy is keeping her on Tuesday and Thursdays this summer. Kin was so in love with her. Kale was so jealous of her and Dandy! Kale came home saying some new words and saying his prayer before he eats his meal. It is priceless. I will try to get it on video soon! Thanks Mom and Dad for taking on quite a tasks for Brandon and I to enjoy a little break and get some of the things done we needed to do. We appreciate it.

Mommy and Daddy Time....

So after our family trip to Sea World Dandi and Popi had agreed to take the grandkids to their house for the week! Mommy had some workshops to attend for the summer and some errands to run. Daddy had to of course get back on the work wagon....to bad he doesn't have summer too:(. Before we tended to those daunting tasks Mommy and Daddy decided to make a quick trip to Fredricksburg for some wine tasting, good food, relaxation and shopping. Mommy had just been there in the spring with some of her high school girlfriends and REALLY wanted to bring Daddy back to share this treasure with him.

We had such a great time. We enjoyed talking, strolling, and each others company more than anything. We had a great cottage at a local bed and breakfast and I am pretty sure we both put on a little weight from all our yummy food. I love and cherish times like these and am so grateful I get to spend them with Brandon. Cannot wait until next time.

Sea World was a HIT!!

In December The Lairsen's headed to visit Aunt Sis and her crew. While we were there we went to the Corpus Aquarium and the kids just loved watching the dolphins swim. That is when Brandon and I knew we had to take our family on the Sea World Adventure this year. It was the best idea! The kids had so much fun. Right when we got there we headed to the Shamu show, as Kinley calls him Shampoo...she was bawling crying when the show was over and did not understand why it had to end. We were the last ones out of the arena so she could see Shampoo swim back into his tank. Kale just sat and said, "Whale, whale, whale" the whole show. I was so proud of the two of them. They made it from the time the park opened until around 4:30. Kale slept for about an hour in the stroller but other than that they went full force the whole day:). If you ask Kinley her favorite part of the day she responds that it was when she fed and pet the dolphins. I am so glad we made this trip. We cannot wait to start planning another one.

Summer Fun...

We have already been so busy this summer and loving every minute of it. I have to admit I was a tad bit nervous about keeping these two little ones entertained...but so far we are managing quite well. The Tobey's have been over to play, we have started swim lessons, gone to the library, eaten snowcones, and visited the pool and the park! I must not forget to include we have ALL been getting in some super good naps....I really need to wake up and clean a little, but that will come in due time;). We cannot wait for our family trip to SeaWorld this weekend and then some time at Dandi and Popi's house!

Updates....

Kids last day of school pics...Kinley's teacher did her hair all crazy so it would be crimped:).

Happy Anniversary...

To my handsome, wonderful and loving husband. I am so blessed to have had you in my life "officially" for 6 years. Though they have not been perfect that is what always makes us stronger in the end. I love you and who you are a little more each day. Thank you for being the man of my dreams and making my dreams come true.

To celebrate such a special occassion we headed up to Josephine's for dinner and then to Lochrann's for some wine and a great time:). The soccer game let out and had a WONDERFUL firework show that we had front row seats for!!!! It was a great way to start year #7 with my main squeeze. I am so thankful for him.
