Hard to Say Goodbye...

As this week begins, I know it will be such a hard one for our family. Our dog, Gunner has been in our lives now for 6 years...almost 7. Brandon and I got Gunner when we lived in McKinney way before children and thought he was our child until Kin came along. He has loved our kids, been our best friend and been a big ol' lap dog. He started having seizures back in November and since then his quality of life has gone down hill. Over the weekend our family planted a "memorial garden" for Gunner in our backyard. It has a pretty bird feeder and has attracted a lot of birds. Gunner has not even gotten up to greet a single one. We have mentioned to Kinley how sick he is (she has even witnessed a seizure) and explained he will be going to the Dr this week. We have told her Dr. Lindsey will have to decide what happens to Gunner and that God will take care of him no matter what. Please pray for our family as we say goodbye to our Gunner Bear which we love so much. They say you only really have one good dog in your life...I am pretty sure he is ours! Our next dog will be one we get for the kids and maybe one Mom and Dad are not quite as attached to.

  1. Heather...I am so sorry to hear about your sweet Gunnar! I remember when you got him! He brough such joy into your life and was your first baby! I know it is hard to let go of a precious pet and I am so sorry this is something you have to do. I am thinking about you and praying for you guys...I know it will be difficult but he won't have any more seizures in doggy heaven. Sending love and hugs your way!
